Solid Wood Table Tops

Solid timber is the only restaurant table top that can be brought back. A room of oak or ash tops that has taken five years of knife marks, ring stains and scuffing can be sanded and re-lacquered over a two-week closure and return looking new.

Tops are built from staves rather than single boards, because solid timber expands and contracts with humidity and a single board will cup. Thickness, edge profile and stain are specified to order, and the edge detail carries most of the risk — a square arris chips first, a small radius survives daily cleaning.

Pair them with a base rated for the finished top size; our table legs and bases range lists the rating for each profile.
